Silver sands @ Mandurah

Setting off !

The best part of a long weekend away with the family is probably when you’re just setting off!

Saitaomei is delighted

Mei mei was the most happy at the playground, because she doesn’t go to school, I think she misses interaction with other kids and is always delighted when we go out in a big crowd.

Fish and chips for lunch

The fish and chips I had for lunch was nothing to shout about but it came with a glass of wine :). Nice way to start the long weekend.

Our Airbnb was pretty good, my favourite part about it was the private backgate access to the beach. We went straight away once we arrived.

Saitaoha loves the beach

Saitaoha is no longer wary of the beach and urged us to accompany her to the waters. She loved splashing amongst the waves and had loads of fun.

Saitaomei being buried in sand

Saitaomei was surprisingly nervous with the waves and didn’t like being near the ocean. She spent most of the afternoon playing with sand and had a glorious time.

Father daughter duo

Papa R and Saitaoha chased each other on the beach and shot water guns at everyone within shot.

Huh? Singing birthday song for me koko?

Saitaomei had her second birthday celebration with the family. She was very pleased and I could hear her singing the birthday song to herself !

Happy birthday sweetie!

She’s such a cutie sometimes. Demanding cutie that is.

Grandparents and grandkids on the beach

It was another lovely beach day the next day and this time my parents joined us. I hope they enjoyed the getaway, poor parents of mine are always so busy looking after my kids they don’t get much of a break.

Walking along the foreshore

We went out for an icecream and walk along the foreshore. Brought back lots of good memories of exploring Mandurah when it was just R and I.

Hooray for icecream

The kids had ice creams everyday during this long weekend, no wonder they were so sad that the holiday was over so soon.

Almost Christmas

They fight and squabble but also have lots of fun together.

Saitaoha does well on the monkey bars

Saitaoha did really well on the monkey bars, surprising us with her strength and agility. Sigh my little girl isn’t so little anymore.

Big girl

It was a lovely long weekend, if only there were more to come! Family trips are always filled with a little trepidation for me because I never know how they will turn out with our different personalities and all. I’m so glad this one was great and relaxing, best of all I got to spend lots of quality time with my family ❤️. Looking forward to our next holiday now.

Saitaomei is 3

My little Saitaomei is three years old today!

At three, she is a mischievous, lively, spoilt and clever little character. We love her for her independent and cute nature, she bursts into the sweetest smiles, and generally has us wrapped around her little finger.

Having fun at yee yee’s house

She’s not into princesses or dresses and girly girl things, neat and trim like her sister. In fact, she would much rather go for a swim, dunk her whole head into the water without fear, or go for a run, kick a ball, chomp on an apple and lick remnants of icecream from her bowl (much to my horror).

Saitaoha says hi!

Her greatest love and enemy is her jeje. But no one protects her more than her big sister. They fight, play, laugh and giggle together everyday. I know they love each other dearly and hope they stay close to each other forever.

Mei’s eyes are always on Gung Gung

Her best friend is none other than her Gung Gung. Mah mah comes a close second. May their love for each other continue and grow for the rest of their days together.

I love you my dearest Saitaomei. The past couple of weeks haven’t been the best, but I’m always reminded of how lucky and blessed I am to have you two in my life. You and jeje light up my world, happy birthday mei mei, stay happy and healthy always.
