Rainy season

It’s the start of the rainy season in Perth. I know winter is almost here when we start using the tumble dryer πŸ˜‰.

Look at Saitaomei’s beaming smile, we are at her favourite crayfish restaurant having a seafood platter because of an indulgent Gung Gung ! There was no occasion, just a promise from a doting grandfather to a spoilt grand daughter. The rest of us are just bystanders to their love affair πŸ˜….

I have to say that at least this little girl kept her word and polished off lots of seafood, she thoroughly enjoyed her time at the restaurant.

Whereas this one has spaghetti πŸ™„ sometimes both of them are just like chalk and cheese. I’m glad they are still each other’s best companion though, even though they squabble all the time, most of the time they have lots of fun together.

The rainy season probably means that I won’t be able to walk home this week πŸ˜‘. I’m hoping I will still get my steps up by working out at home or maybe using my parent’s treadmill.

Pretty girl looked very grown up that day so I snapped a pic.

I always have fond memories of icecream and ah pa. He was always very fond of icecream and I remember us always getting to have icecream because he would want one too ! I had pandan icecream at moonlight in Kenyalang, still my favourite soft serve icecream to date, my father would always have one with me. And when he picked people up at the airport, there was a McDonald’s at the airport so he always had a soft serve. When we went to Spring, we would almost always stop for a lovely soft serve at Sugarbun.

So on days in Perth when my kids are having a soft serve cone with my Ah pa, I always want to snap a picture to preserve this memory. How lucky are we to be able to grow old with my parents around. My only 遗憾 is that my brother is too far away to enjoy time with my parents.

Best friends forever.

The month of May seems to have been filled with icecream, fun times with the family and lots of quality time with my not so little ones. I’ve also made a conscious effort to exercise more and am feeling stronger because of it. It’s been a kind month of May, hopefully June is kind on us too.

Month of May

My girls ready to party on Saturday. They were delighted waiting for their best friend’s mum to pick them up, as I took this picture of them, I thought to myself ‘when did they get so long and lean?’ They’re definitely out of the cute little girls phase now πŸ˜”, there will come a day when I’m no longer their favourite person to hang out with, I don’t look forward to that day.

Then there will come a day when I hopefully because their favourite people to hang out with again! Just like how I love hanging out with my parents. While the girls were out partying, we went for a spot of shopping where Ah pa scored some new shoes and then we had an Aussie brunch at a friend’s cafe. Ah ma and I then headed off to grocery shop and we had a nice couple of hours gossiping and chatting.

Another memorable meal at our Korean friend’s house, we spent so many hours there that lunch turned into dinner πŸ˜†. They are such gracious hosts and I wish I could return the favour but my house is just so not host friendly sigh.

R bought me a pair of in-line skates so I’m going to hand to learn how to skate pretty soon! It’s a pity our weekends are so packed, going for an activity means skipping out on lessons, or lunch bento making time. I wish weekends were longer! A three day weekend would be perfect right ?

These oodies used to dwarf them, now I’m looking at Saitaoha and thinking how come it’s so short ? Do I have to get her an adult oodie soon?

Dinner at my sister’s followed by dessert of Super Ring πŸ˜‚, only fellow Malaysians would understand the cheesy fingers as a result of Super Ring. Speaking of Malaysia, we’ve booked our holiday to Malaysia in July, we will be spending some time in KL and Genting, a place I haven’t been for decades, I wonder whether we will enjoy it? I think we will, we always have fun when we are together, whether it’s going to the park or travelling overseas together. July feels far away but I’m counting down already.
