Looks sinful but it’s actually low fat! A recipe from my diet conscious colleague, this Upside Down Maple Syrup Pear Cake was quite nice, especially the sweet pears. Goes well with two scoops of vanilla icecream, which kinda defeats the low fat idea (^___^).

wow so quick your comment, I only just posted! No, actually it was very easy, about 20 mins or less prep, and 1 hour in the oven. Because it’s low fat so no butter or oil involved, so the cake part is not as moist as I would like it to be, but still quite good. I think the non low fat recipes would be even yummier.
Obviously I don’t bake a lot but why is it called upside down cake?
because I had to turn the cake upside down in the end, the pears were actually at the bottom layer of the cake.
