He’s ok now

Richard was admitted into the hospital for appendicitis during the weekend and had his appendix removed last night. It was possibly one of the scariest moments of my life and the worst weekend ever.

I could probably write a million words on how bad our experience with Royal Perth hospital was, the weird things that one witnesses during a six hour wait in the emergency waiting room and the wonders of private hospitals.

But it doesn’t matter now because he’s ok and no longer in pain. See happy smiles and V signs? Silly boys.

A million thanks to Gerry who was my shining beacon in the darkness and never failed to make me laugh when I really wanted to cry. And Richard for being horribly stubborn but tremendously brave and positive throughout the whole ordeal, I’m so glad you’re ok now (^__^).

Oh dear, get well soon Richard!

You know I think it’s cos we have been so fortunate with our own and our family’s health (and knock on wood, long may that continue for always!) that we’re so freaked out by hospital stays and such. I remember when Ah Pa had dengue fever, that was so traumatic. That’s why I always pray for good health and happiness, the two most important things to have in life.

he’s loads better and up and about already! I agree with the being fortunate part though, realised that I’ve never had to witness anyone going into surgery or anything like that before, really traumatic.

could see that the ordeal was already over when the picture was taken. the boys looked happy and richard seemed strong and alert.wouldn’t be able to tell that he had just gone through a surgery if you didn’t post about it.
