2010 starts off with a bang!

(T___________T). SIIIIIIIGGGGGHHHHH. I am suffering from post new year holiday blues. My new year long weekend was so good and fun that the thought of going back to work tomorrow is unbearable.

The focus of this picture isn’t Jo, it’s the oysters. That’s all we ate at our New Year’s eve buffet dinner at the Observation City Hotel along Scarbourough Beach, oysters, oysters, maybe some yabbies, prawns, back to oysters. I’m pleased to say none of us suffered from tummy ache afterwards. Even though it was just Jo, HC, Richard and I, we still had a really lovely and memorable time.

Richard and HC at the lobby of the hotel before they stuffed themselves silly with seafood. I just noticed that their shirts match, haha.

Heehee, the newly engaged couple, don’t they look happy? The party hats were courtesy of the hotel.

It was really windy and cold outside because we were right by the beach. But we still stopped by the wishing well and made some last 2009 wishes.

We didn’t realise that we stayed so long at the buffet and had to rush to Xinlong’s to make it there before midnight. Everyone was already there, Jason and Wendy, Calv, Xinlong. It was a smaller group of us since most of the gang have gone home for holidays, but still, it was a warm and intimate affair. I really like this picture that Richard took of the house, our gathering place for the later part of 2009. It felt right that we were there to welcome the new year.

Yeah, happy new year! Drinks all around, toasts,  defective ribbons and streamers. Laughter and good cheer.

Xinlong taught us that the Aussie signature pose for photos is the two thumbs up and a giant ‘xi gua’ (watermelon) grin, so the boys posed for 2010, Aussie style.

It was such a nice new year long weekend. I’m really suffering now, 5 days and counting to the weekend again. Happy new year again folks.
